Bottles on the Wall
If you’re thinking of redecorating your home or office, forget expensive paintings or “floating” bookshelves (you know what I’m talking about), get these wall stickers to emblazon those bare white walls.
Designed by the talented team at Hu2 Design in London, these vinyl wall stickers also double up as recipes for very good cocktails.
Absolut Freedom
Absolut vodka, a great supporter of the arts, has given Spike Jonze complete creative freedom. This particular collaboration cements Absolut as a brand that is pioneering and culture-shaping.
With Absolut’s support, Jonze’s latest masterpiece is entitled “I’m Here”, a 35-minute heartwarming film about a robot in a captivating world.
Wine In A Box
This is one boxed wine I will drink, if not stare at. Why do things from Sweden always look so good? Even their people look unrealistically good, like they’re from a race more evolved than the rest of the world, but I digress. If you understand Swedish, please tell me if Akesson Vin will ever come to our sunny (read: humid) island.

More Quaff Card Outlets
We’ve added two outlets on board the Quaff card wagon!
First up is Hairloom & Caramel, an adorable hair saloon (Hairloom) linked to an offbeat cafe. With tasteful mismatched furniture, the cutest cupcakes plus hot tea and a retail corner that sells little knick-knacks, Hairloom & Caramel is the ideal lazy corner to spend a rainy day.
Next is House, popular for their innovative presentations of our favourite cocktails such as Long Island Iced Tea which comes in a Chinese teapot. Of course the large outdoor deck and comfy couches, the raw minimalist interior with artistic touches doesn’t exactly keep people away.

Do note that the promotions at House will start on 18 Jan 10.
Beautiful Bar Carts
I’m sitting here day-dreaming as I often do, and in my dream I’m in the sun, at my outdoor bar that’s under a gazebo, mixing myself a mojito. I love mojitos. The bar is fully tiled in varying shades of blue (I also love mosaic), the counter top is glass, and I can sit on it, swinging my legs, reading my favourite book.
But bzzzzzzz… rewind! I’m in Singapore, hello?? What gazebo? The average apartment space in Singapore is so darn small, there’s not much chance of a patio even. So I’ll adapt. Instead of an outdoor bar, I’ll settle for a beautiful space-saving bar cart and a cushy armchair.
Though I must say, with these bar carts, it’s hardly settling.
Spotted on Design*Sponge, this quirky apple green bar cart is bound to brighten up your evening after an insipid day at work. It can be bought here.
I spotted this sleek little baby on Oprah, and ouch, it’s so clean-cut it really hurts. It’s by a brand called BoConcept (great name) and hey, they have outlets at Paragon and Devonshire! Get one for your high-rise bachelor pad with balcony; it’ll fit right in.
Used airline trolleys! For you creative types out there. Available at bordbar. The interior is fully customisable, and you can also choose to send in your own design for the trolley if you don’t fancy the available graphic designs. Ships internationally.
It’s 2010!
Happy New Year to all!!
Here are some things we hope for in 2010:
1. Charming bartenders!
Sure, not all bartenders will look like Tom Cruise (pre-Katie), but surely they can do better than the occasional nonchalant nod. And then getting my cocktail wrong.
2. Innovative cocktails!
Enough with the cosmopolitans and fruity lychee martinis, give me more of that stuff Tippling Club rolls out.
3. Serve tap water!
Please, please, please don’t ask me if I want still or sparkling. I’m not in Europe. I know tap water is good to drink, and I want tap.
Hope you all had a great time ringing in the new year!
